Olive Tree (Olea europea)
The 6-inch Olive Tree (Olea europea) with its light, sage-colored foliage, has grown in popularity as a houseplant given how beautifully it works in modern and contemporary interiors. As you might expect, the Olive Tree, native to the Mediterranean, requires plenty of bright, direct sunlight (up to 6 hours a day), thrives in dry air and grows best in sandy soil that drains well. If you replant, use a cactus mix. Water only after the top one inch of soil is dry.
While Olive Trees can grow up to six feet tall, if you regularly prune yours it will maintain a much smaller profile. Like a Fiddle Leaf Fig, the Olive Tree can grow into a large anchor plant for your home or office.
Sold in the original 6-inch grower’s pot.
