The Sweetheart Hoya (Hoya kerrii) is named for its thick, succulent, heart-shaped leaves which also give it the name Valentine Hoya. This easy-to-maintain plant is slow-growing but in the summertime clusters of white blooms with burgundy in the center.

The Sweetheart Hoya does best in diffused, bright light but will tolerate a location with some shade. The leaves of the Sweetheart Hoya are reservoirs of water making it drought-tolerant so it only needs watering at most, twice a month. Plant your hoya in a hanging basket near a window and before long you will have a basket full of thick, green heart leaves.
