Anthurium Plant
The Anthurium Plant (andreanum), also known as the laceleaf of flamingo flower, is a widely available tropical beauty that grows a heart-shaped "flower" that is a spathe. The anthurium spathe has a protruding spadix (a spike with minute flowers) that emerges from its center. While this variety of anthurium is most commonly red, it grows in a variety of bold and beautiful colors, including white, pink, lavender, orange, coral, chocolate, burgundy, and purple. You can understand why the spathe of this exotic beauty is used in floral arrangements. The anthurium spathe can also be variegated, while each colorful "bloom" can last 30 days or more.
Easy to maintain, the anthurium thrives in bright, indirect light, and humid environments. Mist it to keep it happy.
Sold in the grower's pot, we strongly recommend you pick a pot or planter with drainage to allow the water to drain away from the roots. We recommend the Gemstone cylinder from Momma Pots or a colorful pot from Chive. We will gladly transplant your anthurium for you if you find a pot you like.
