Zig Zag Cactus
Native to the jungles of Mexico, the Zig Zag Cactus (Disocactus Anguliger) is unique in the cactus world both visually and in how it grows. Also known as a Ric Rack cactus or Fishbone cactus, this plant thrives in lower lighting conditions and makes it ideal for hanging with its sturdy, zig zag-shaped leaves from the cactus base.
As an epiphyt (plant that grows on other plants), the soil you use for the Zig Zag should drain well. Mix regular potting soil with cactus potting soil in equal amounts to get a well-draining soil it will enjoy. This cactus, unlike the typical cactus plant, likes regular watering, but be sure to plant it in a container with proper drainage where the roots do not soak in water, or it will kill it.
