Red Bristle Philodendron
The Red Bristle Philodendron (Philodendron Squamiferum) is a fascinating plant with stems that start yellow and red and turn to deep green, covered with a red hair-like "bristle." A tropical climbing plant, the Red Bristle prefers medium to low light, so avoid a bright location. The growth rate and color may vary in each plant depending on the light and soil.
The Red Bristle prefers moist, organic soil that drains well. Sold in the nursery container, we highly recommend transplanting your new plant into a container with good drainage. We recommend the Gemstone cylinder from Momma Pots or one from our Chive Collection with drain holes and matching saucers to catch excess water.
