Red Prayer Plant 4"

The Red Prayer Plant 4" (Maranta leuconeura) is a beautiful and exotic indoor plant with colorful, broad shaped patterned leaves. Prayer plants come in an assortment of colors ranging from green tones to burgundy and silver shades. The more common tricolor variety has deep green, velvety leaves with yellow patches down the middle and large red veins traveling across the leaf. A mature Maranta should have full, six-inch-long leaves rising from a short center stem that drape. Of course, as this is a prayer plant, expect it to fold its leaves upward in the evening, thus giving it its name.

The Prayer Plant is a more difficult plant to care for, taking extra time and attention. It is essential to keep your plant away from cold drafts and direct sunlight placing it in areas with bright, but indirect light. Humidity is important so b,e sure to mist and take it into the bathroom regularly. Keep it in temperatures between 65-75 degrees and, it will thrive. Pet and child safe.
